Horizon 2020: the EU research and innovation funding programme
Success stories from businesses and other organisations who have accessed European funding and support for their innovation projects.
Horizon 2020 is the largest ever European funding programme for research and innovation. It has a grant budget of 79 billion euros and will run until 2020.
This collection brings together real-life examples of UK organisations using the Horizon 2020 programme to develop their innovative ideas. It includes how they have benefited from working with international partners and gaining access to EU funding support.
Notes on EU opportunities
New Horizon 2020 opportunities launch regularly and are open to UK businesses. They will continue to be open to the UK while it remains a member of the European Union.
The government will underwrite payment of such awards, even when specific projects continue beyond the UK’s departure from the EU. This includes awards where the application is submitted before the exit and is subsequently approved after exit.
