Hospital-based tooth extractions in 0 to 19 year olds

Official statistics data sets and supporting materials relating to NHS hospital admissions for extraction of teeth in children and young adults.

The Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) publishes annual official statistics on tooth extractions in 0 to 19 year olds that take place in an NHS hospital setting in England. Data in these reports includes:

  • tooth extractions grouped by NHS region and statistical region
  • tooth extractions grouped by upper tier and lower tier local authority
  • tooth extractions grouped by diagnosis (tooth decay or other reasons)
  • trend data showing tooth extractions by year
  • breakdown of tooth decay-related extractions by deprivation category
