HS2 Additional Provision (September 2014) environmental statement
HS2 Ltd has identified a number of relatively minor changes to the project. Amendments to the Bill have been made to reflect these changes.
The Additional Provision (September 2014) environmental statement is composed of a number of documents, all of which are publicly available via this page. Changes to Parliamentary Bills are made in the form of an Additional Provision. This is the same for the High Speed Rail (London - West Midlands) Bill currently progressing through Parliament.
An Additional Provision consists of a document which outlines the amendments being made to parts of the Bill itself, supplementary environmental information, and either replacement or additional plans and sections
These changes are a normal part of the evolving design of any major infrastructure scheme and have arisen as a result of:
- discussions with stakeholders and members of the public
- further information becoming available; and
- design refinements.
An Additional Provision is deposited in Parliament during the Select Committee process and gives rise to a new petitioning period on the Additional Provision. It also gives rise to a consultation on the supplementary environmental information accompanying it.
Prior to the deposit of the Additional Provision, a resolution of the House of Commons will allow the Select Committee to consider the proposed changes.
Additional Provision (September 2014)
On 9 September 2014, amendments to the original High Speed Rail (London - West Midlands) Bill were deposited in Parliament, known as an ‘Additional Provision’.
