Details
The Enforcement policy for animal medicines sets out the general principles and approach that the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) will take to enforce the Veterinary Medicines Regulations (VMR). The policy explains how and when enforcement notices or other action may be taken.
The Secretary of State owns the powers provided by the VMR, which include powers of entry and powers of an inspector.
Our guidance documents listed under the ‘Supply’ heading explain what is allowed in GB, how medicines can legally be possessed and used, and by whom.
Publication of enforcement action
We publicise all improvement notices, seizure notices and prosecutions under the VMR. This is a rolling 12 month listing.
