The success of any organisation is heavily reliant on how it manages and uses its information. The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is no different and to ensure its future success it needs to adapt and evolve by making use of available technology. Defence is currently on a journey to enable more agile processes within its business, and is designing and developing a broad spectrum of solutions with digital enablers, mobility, cloud, DevOps /continuous integration tools and contemporary languages such as Microsoft .NET and Java.

With a starting salary of around £24,000 those who join the MOD Information Graduate Scheme will have the opportunity to be part of this transformation and undertake a wide variety of roles to gain knowledge and experience of the information space within defence.

The scheme aims to develop and grow defence capability across a variety of information assurance and information technology roles including networks and gateways, solutions and applications, architecture; cloud/hosting and infrastructure, information assurance and security and agile development and management.

The MOD will invest heavily to support your individual professional training and provide opportunities to gain specific technical experience, whilst broadening your professional development. We are working with professional bodies to gain professional accreditation of the Scheme.

Eligibility

The scheme is looking for graduates with a 2:2 degree or above in a range of accredited information related degree disciplines including (but not limited to):

  • computing
  • computer science
  • computer engineering (software/systems)
  • business computing
  • software development
  • computer/computing (forensics/science)
  • information technology
  • information systems
  • information aecurity/applications
  • application development
  • network infrastructure/security/engineering/management
