River Thames: accommodation licence
You must have an accommodation licence to keep an existing structure or install a new structure in, on or over the River Thames or cut into the bank.
Application form
Use this form to apply to:
- install a structure
- change an existing structure
- keep an existing structure
You must also apply for an environmental permit and check if you need planning permission before you install a new structure or change an existing structure.
Licensing requirements
The Environment Agency will decide whether or not to accept your application based on whether it meets the accommodation licensing requirements.
If your application does not meet the requirements, the Environment Agency will tell you how to change it so that it does.
Tariffs
There is an annual fee for accommodation licences, which runs from 29 September each year. Check the accommodation licence overview page if you do not know which tariff applies to you.
