Support for Afghans to find settled accommodation
Help is available for Afghan people in temporary accommodation in the UK to find settled housing.
The UK has 2 resettlement schemes for people from Afghanistan:
- Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ACRS)
- Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP)
Under these schemes, Afghan arrivals may be provided with temporary accommodation for a time limited period in the UK. Support will be provided to help Afghans arriving under the schemes to find settled accommodation.
The move away from hotels and serviced accommodation will help provide more stability for people so they can rebuild their lives in the UK. They’ll get consistent public services, schooling and employment.
