The Directive on Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) (Directive 2018/645/EC) will be implemented as soon as possible by making changes to the Vehicle Drivers (Certificates of Professional Competence) Regulations 2007.

Consultation description

The aim of this consultation is to seek your views on implementing EU Directive 2003/59/EC in the UK and modifying UK Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) rules to reduce administrative processes for course approvals and to modernise some aspects of enforcement.

We have set out a number of proposals relating to Driver CPC. We have also included plans on how we could extend the authorisation period for Driver CPC courses and amendments to guidance for trainers to reflect the changes to the syllabus.
