We published the government response to this consultation on 10 March 2016.

The 25 formal written responses we received were broadly supportive of the aims of the regulations with respondents agreeing that they would reduce burdens on employers.

Summary

This is a consultation on proposed technical changes intended to simplify the automatic enrolment process and reduce burdens on employers.

This consultation ran from

Consultation description

This consultation seeks views on proposals to introduce:

• simpler processes for the re-declaration of compliance and for employers to bring their staging date forward
• further exceptions to employer duties in certain circumstances

The consultation is aimed at:

• employers
• trade unions
• employee representatives
• pension industry professionals, including scheme administrators, payroll administrators, accountants, payroll bureaux, independent financial advisers and employee benefit consultants
