Consultation description

The Department for Education is consulting on proposals to change the limits, which are set out in regulations, to the hours that children can take part in performances and the breaks they must have.

We are proposing to replace the current complex rules with a simple framework that will apply to all types of performance that need licensing.

We would welcome your views on these proposals. We are particularly keen to hear from child performers and their parents, as these proposals will have such a direct impact on children’s opportunities and performance conditions.
