Consultation description

HMCTS is now consulting on the proposed closure of Chorley Magistrates’ Court and Fleetwood Magistrates’ Court (currently used as a Family Hearing Centre) in Lancashire based on the same principles as set out in the 2015 consultation. These closures are part of our continued efforts to consolidate our estate to achieve value for money for the taxpayer. The proposed relocation of the work from these courts has been carefully considered, along with the potential impact on court users, judiciary and staff.
