Detail of outcome

The main conclusion of the review was that the Committee on Mutagenicity of Chemicals in Food, Consumer Products and the Environment (COM) plays a valuable role in providing expert and independent advice across government. COM performs necessary functions and should continue to operate as an advisory non-departmental public body.

The review also contains recommendations to improve performance and governance.
