These requirements are intended to be applied retrospectively to the Domestic Passenger Fleet.
Your views are sought in the following areas:
- The Impact Assessment and whether it represents a true representation of the impact of the proposals
- The proposed revised requirements in general and how they will affect you as an operator (if applicable)
- The feasibility of implementing the proposals including whether the proposed transition period is achievable.
Consultation update:
A workshop was held for operators of domestic passenger vessels and other interested stakeholders on 29th November 2018 at the MCA. The aim of this workshop was to discuss the consultation proposals and allow initial queries and points to be raised in a face to face manner as well as an opportunity to outline the impact assessment process to operators and provide guidance on putting together a consultation response. The below document (Workshop - summary) provides a summary of some of the key discussion points for all consultees.
This consultation is now closed, but a second consultation was launched on 29 May 2019, which will remain open until 10 July. It presents the proposals as revised following feedback on the proposals presented in this first consultation. Click here for the second consultation
