Consultation description

In February 2021, the government published a policy paper that set out how we intend to develop a Spatial Framework to help us realise our ambition to support sustainable economic growth in the Oxford-Cambridge Arc - the area that spans the 5 ceremonial counties of Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire.

The consultation document, ‘Creating a Vision for the Oxford-Cambridge Arc’, sets out the government’s first public consultation on the Oxford-Cambridge Arc Spatial Framework. We are seeking views to help us create a vision for the Oxford-Cambridge Arc Spatial Framework, and in doing so guide the future growth of the area to 2050.

To ensure sustainability is embedded in the Spatial Framework we are producing a Sustainability Appraisal. As we are also seeking views on the initial work we have done to set the scope of the Sustainability Appraisal, a Scoping Report has been prepared as part of this consultation.

We are consulting on both documents. To respond to the consultation, you can share your views on our digital engagement platform.
