We received 1,547 individual responses to this consultation.

Following consideration of these responses, 4 new sites will be added to the list of bathing waters before the beginning of the 2023 bathing season:

  • Sykes Lane Bathing Beach, Rutland Water
  • Whitwell Creek, Rutland Water
  • Firestone Bay, Plymouth
  • the area of the River Deben Estuary in Waldringfield that was the subject of the application

We want to know what you think about the proposal to designate 4 new bathing waters in England. The sites being considered are:

  • Sykes Lane Bathing Beach, Rutland Water, Rutland
  • Whitwell Creek, Rutland Water, Rutland
  • Firestone Bay, Plymouth, Devon
  • River Deben, Waldringfield, Suffolk
