The government has considered the responses to the consultation on the scheme announced at Spring Budget 2017 for discretionary business rates relief and determined that final allocations to local authorities will be made according to the draft allocations published as part of the consultation.

Consultation description
At the Budget on 8 March, the Chancellor announced that the government would make available a discretionary fund of £300 million to support those businesses most affected by the revaluation.
This consultation paper seeks views on the:
- allocation of resources to local authorities
- arrangements for local authorities compensation
- operation and conditions of discretionary relief scheme
