Consultation description

Because a General Election has been called for 6 May 2010, an extra two weeks has been added to the consultation period. The close date has therefore been moved from 18 May to 1 June 2010.

The Government has published its response to two policy consultations (in March and December 2009) on changes to simplify the operation of the agreements. You will find this response with second of these consultations:

• Second consultation on the form and content of new Climate Change Agreements

In its response, the Government confirmed its decision to establish a shorter, simplified form of Agreements and to create separate scheme rules for the operation of the agreements, supported by guidance on technical matters. This new consultation sets out proposals for the new agreements and the scheme rules, and seeks views and comment on them.
