Consultation description

We want to know what you think about our draft Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2016 and draft Private Water Supplies (England) Regulations 2016.

The new regulations transpose the monitoring requirements for radioactive substances as set out in the EU Council Directive 2013/51/Euratom. They also clarify and consolidate the drinking water legislation in line with the government’s commitment to better regulation.

The new regulations will revoke and replace the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2000 (as amended) and the Private Water Supplies Regulations 2009 (as amended).
