Consultation description

This consultation seeks views on how the Farriers Registration Council (FRC) will work in the future. It outlines proposals which aim to overcome some practical difficulties and reduce the risk of legal challenge. It also seeks to modernise the council in line with other regulated professions and the principles of better regulation.

As part of the review we want to make sure that the decisions we make are fully informed by stakeholders’ views. This consultation will be of interest to those connected to the farriery profession.

Farriers are specialists in the foot care of horses and similar animals. The FRC is the statutory regulator for the farriery profession.
