Detail of outcome
We have made small changes to the definitions for analyse and evaluate in the guidance for assessment objective AO3. This is to ensure that these terms, which are used across a number of subjects, are used consistently.
We have adopted all our other proposed rules and guidance in full.

Consultation description
This consultation is about changes we plan to make to our rules and guidance for new GCSEs in sociology. These rules will apply to the new sociology GCSEs that will be taught in schools in England from September 2017.
This consultation takes forward decisions made following our earlier consultation Development of new GCSEs and A levels for teaching from 2017, and is part of Ofqual’s work supporting the government’s changes to GCSEs, AS and A levels.
