Consultation description
As a public body, HS2 Ltd is subject to the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) under the Equality Act 2010. The PSED requires public bodies to have due regard to the need to eliminate discrimination, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations between different people during the design, construction and operation of the railway.
We are consulting on an update of the Equality Impact Assessment (EQIA) report that was published in July 2017. The report has been updated to take into account a number of proposed changes to the High Speed Rail (West Midlands to Crewe) Bill in Parliament, in the form of Additional Provision 2 (AP2) and Supplementary Environmental Statement 2 (SES2). For more information on the proposed changes please visit the AP2 and SES2 collection page. This update also considers changes and amendments in SES1 and AP1 ES, published in March 2018 and undertakings and assurances published in December 2018.
Your responses to the consultation on the updated EQIA will be considered as we design, plan, deliver, manage and operate HS2 Phase 2a.
