Consultation description
The Portability Regulation comes into force on 1 April 2018. Businesses bound by its obligations must implement by this date.
The aim of the Regulation is to make it easier for subscribers to use their online content services when they are temporarily in another member state of the EU. This can be for purposes such as holiday or business travel. The Regulation covers, for example, television and film subscription services, and sports services.
We need to make sure the Regulation is enforceable under UK law. The consultation asks a series of questions on whether the approach is correct and complete.
The closing date for responses is 31 January 2018.
