The consultation received 394 responses.

We will further develop those proposals which have received support, as outlined in the consultation response.  We will also amend the Equine Identification (England) Regulations 2018, as required, to implement those supported proposals that require legislative change. The timescale for this is expected to be summer 2023.

We want to know what you think about changes to improve the equine identification and traceability system in England. Our changes will help support animal health and welfare and protect public health.

Digital solutions will make it easier to update equine records and improve data quality.
