As a result of this consultation, we are:

  • making regulations to implement the proposed penalties to support the enforcement of the technical standards in the type approval framework
  • implementing the requirements for DAB radios in new passenger vehicles, where radios are fitted (see the outcome of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport’s related consultation on the implementation of the European Electronic Communications Code)
  • reviewing proposed changes to the technical requirements and production limits for small series manufacturers for inclusion in future legislation
