Industrial Energy Transformation Fund: finalising the design
Read the full outcome
Detail of outcome
Our proposals for the final design of the fund were generally well received. The majority agreed with proposals on:
- which technologies it should support
- the feasibility and engineering studies
- funding support and how it would be delivered
The proposals on eligible organisations and the minimum grant award size received a mixed response, so we have lowered the minimum threshold from £1 million to £250,000 to allow more SMEs to apply.
The IETF will be delivered in 2 phases:
- Phase 1, with up to £30 million of funding for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, will open on 20 July 2020
- Phase 2, with the remainder of the funding, will launch in 2021
We have now published the Phase 1 guidance for applicants.
