Consultation description

The Technical and Further Education Act 2017 sets out the framework for an insolvency regime which applies aspects of existing insolvency law to further education and sixth-form colleges in England and Wales. It also introduces a special administration regime designed to protect the interests of learners at an insolvent college.

This consultation seeks views on the technical detail of the insolvency regime. It sets out proposals for how colleges in or at risk of insolvency will be dealt with in practice. It also outlines plans to further improve monitoring and support available to colleges in financial difficulty.
