Detail of outcome

In December 2022 the government consulted on a number of proposed changes to the National Planning Policy Framework, including changes relating to onshore wind development in England. That consultation concluded on 2 March 2023 and we received over 26,000 responses.

An interim response to the consultation related to onshore wind was published on 5 September 2023. The final response was published on 19 December 2023.

This consultation seeks views on our proposed approach to updating to the National Planning Policy Framework. We are also seeking views on our proposed approach to preparing National Development Management Policies, how we might develop policy to support levelling up, and how national planning policy is currently accessed by users.
