Detail of outcome
The Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations were made on 12 September 2013 and laid before Parliament on 19 September. Further regulations on cost management, transitional savings and protection matters and scheme governance are to follow.
The department consulted widely on the provisions in the period between December 2012 and August 2013.
The government response summarises the comments received.
The summary of the responses above sets out those received to the consultation on the Local Government Pension Scheme (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2014, which took place from 27 March 2013 to 24 May 2013 plus the government response to it.

Consultation description
This consultation commences a second period of statutory consultation on the new Local Government Pension Scheme which will come into effect from 1 April 2014 and will cover draft regulations on membership, contributions and benefits, transitional provisions and miscellaneous provisions.
Further consultation exercises covering the remainder of the new scheme will follow shortly, including a separate consultation on councillor access.
