On 16th February 2015, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) opened a public consultation with users about proposals for collecting and publishing Official Statistics, including the priorities for current development and planned future developments.

This consultation ended on 16 March 2015 11:45pm. Seven responses were received from both external and internal users during the consultation period which ended on 16th March 2015. Two responses from internal users have been dealt with separately through internal feedback.

Consultation description

The draft statistics plan describes the MOD’s proposals for collecting and publishing official statistics, including the priorities for future developments and other planned future developments.

We are seeking:

  • users’ views on the extent to which our planned deployment of resources will meet their needs for a range of Official Statistics covering the department’s responsibilities

  • users’ reactions to our proposals for either expanding; retaining; realigning; re-engineering; or curtailing our existing portfolio of Official Statistics products

  • information from users about the particular uses to which they put our statistics
