Consultation description

Budget 2016 announced that a new tax relief for museums and galleries would be introduced in April 2017, following a consultation in 2016.

Britain is home to a diverse range of museums and galleries and this tax relief will support them to develop creative new exhibitions and to display their collections to a wider audience.

This consultation document sets out the details of the proposed tax relief and seeks views in key areas of its design. Its aim is to develop a museums and galleries tax relief that works well for the sector.
