Consultation description

The government is asking for people’s ideas and thoughts in response to the following question:

“How do we build on the strengths in the north to create an economic core in the heart of the region that can compete with the biggest cities and regions in the world?”

The Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg announced the call for ideas on 4 July 2014 during a speech in Leeds.

The Northern Futures Summit will take place on 6 November 2014 to debate some of the themes that have emerged.
