The summary of responses was released on 20 July 2017. This document stated that we have decided that the closure of Norton Bridge station should proceed subject to maintaining part funding for rail replacement bus services until the end of March 2019. During this time bus service levels will be reviewed by Staffordshire County Council in line with other local services. The department sent its proposal to the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) for ratification in August 2017, as required under legislation.
In October 2017, the ORR completed the ratification process. It is content for the closure of Norton Bridge station to go ahead. The ratification notice (PDF, 472KB) dated 26 October 2017, is available to view on the ORR website.
The closure of Norton Bridge station will take effect on 10 December 2017.
