On 4 May 2022 the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) made some amendments to its policy, including:

  • making its role and responsibilities within the road investment strategy (RIS) development process clearer
  • highlighting the work it intends to undertake to inform its advice regarding performance in the areas of environment and safety
  • amending its approach to the planned RIS3 capability reviews which will inform its advice on efficiency

In preparation for the third road investment strategy (RIS3) process, the Office of Rail and Road has set out how they intend to conduct activities and the evidence they intend to use to inform assessments.

ORR is seeking feedback on the proposed approach.
