Seeks views on the requirement for UK goods vehicle operators to post declarations to carry out goods journeys within the EU, as well as the consolidation of regulations for foreign goods vehicles operating in the UK.

Consultation description

We are proposing that:

  • UK operators should be required to obtain a declaration from the EU’s Internal Market Information System to perform goods journeys within the EU
  • EU operators should be required to make an Internal Market Information System declaration to perform cabotage journeys in the UK
  • the regulations related to operator licensing exemptions for foreign goods vehicles in GB should be consolidated
