Detail of outcome

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) held a consultation from 29 January 2021 to 26 March 2021 on proposals for changes to Gambling Commission fees. A total of 24 consultation responses were received from trade associations, licensed gambling operators, members of the public, academics and representatives of the House of Lords (Peers for Gambling Reform). This is the governments response.

Consultation description

This consultation proposes an uplift to Gambling Commission fees based on proposals from the Gambling Commission to the Government. This is separate to the ongoing Gambling Act Review.

The proposed uplift in fees would enable the Gambling Commission to continue to recover its costs and tackle new challenges in regulation, including increasing technological developments and changes to the market.
