Consultation description
Following the renewal of the block exemption by the Secretary of State in February 2016, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is consulting on updated guidance on the block exemption.
The block exemption automatically exempts certain types of transport ticketing schemes from Chapter I of the Competition Act 1998.
The draft guidance is intended to replace the Office of Fair Trading’s Public transport ticketing schemes block exemption - Understanding competition guidance (OFT439) published in 2006.
We’re inviting views on the changes to the guidance and a new short guide that aims to provide a quick overview of what the block exemption covers.
