Consultation description

The European Commission is working to establish a new European Electronic Communications Code, which, amongst other things, seeks to:

  • harmonise regulation of electronic communications across the EU
  • encourage competition as a driver of private investment, innovation and consumer choice,
  • provide adequate consumer protection

These proposals include changes to regulations on access, the way we manage radio spectrum, and levels of consumer protection.

To represent the UK in negotiations, DCMS is seeking stakeholder views across business and industry at industry roundtables and events. We would also like to invite those stakeholders who cannot attend these events to share their views directly with us and stay updated on progress.
