This consultation did not identify that any significant changes to the guidance were required. ORR used feedback from consultees to refine the guidance and to update its information on level crossings.

The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) is asking for a review and comments on our proposed guidance document on principles for managing level crossing safety, which offers guidance for people:

  • involved in level crossing safety
  • whose activities impact on level crossing safety
  • using level crossings

The aim is to update the existing guidance on level crossings for managers, designers and operators with this new information.
