Consultation description

On 22 September 2014 the Minister for Immigration wrote to the Chair of the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) commissioning the MAC to carry out a review of the shortage occupation lists (SOL) for the UK and Scotland.

The Government’s commission said:

Following the MAC’s comprehensive review of the SOL, published in February 2013, the Government has been made aware of a small number of occupations where there may be a case for inclusion on or removal from the SOL.

The document provides information on the MAC approach to this review, identifies issues and questions on which the MAC would particularly value views and sets out how to submit evidence. The closing date for responses to be received by the MAC is 5 December 2014 and partners are strongly encouraged to submit their evidence before this date.
