This consultation response concerns the outcome of the consultation on PACE Codes C and H.
The revised codes C and H were laid before Parliament on 23 of July 2019 together with the Order that brings these Codes into force on 21 August 2019. Until then, the 2018 revised codes C and H remain unchanged and in force.
The order bringing the codes into force is published on legislation.gov.uk.
Combined extracts that set out the changes from codes C and H are available and take effect on 21 August 2019.

This combined draft version of Codes C and H is being circulated for consultation in accordance with section 67(4) of PACE.
- code C concerns the detention, treatment and questioning of persons detained under PACE
- code H concerns persons detained under the terrorism provisions
