Applies to England
Detail of outcome
Summary of consultation
A consultation on the proposed changes to the Right to Buy Sales Official Statistics was opened by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities on 15 July 2021 and ran until 9 September 2021. The consultation asked for comments from users of the Official Statistics on the changes of the publication plan from a quarterly publication to an annual publication and for insight on how users engaged with the data provided. This document outlines the responses received and how the Department intends to proceed.
Responses
The consultation was open to any potential users of the Official Statistics, including but not limited to; academics, local authorities, social housing providers, journalists, policy makers, analysts and members of the public. Over the course of the consultation the Department received 1 external response, which came from a planning and development consultancy company and 1 internal response from policy advisors.
The external response outlined their requirements for the combined statistical output of the Department and the Regulator of Social Housing but made no specific comments on the presentation of the Right to Buy Sales and Replacements Official Statistics statistical bulletin. There were comments on the presentation of the tables which aligned with the plans of the Department, so these planned changes will go ahead.
Department response to the consultation
Due to the absence of any disagreement to any of the proposed changes to the statistical bulletin and live tables, the Department will proceed as proposed with the changes to the statistical release. The Department will continue to engage with users throughout the data collection and publication cycles to make the statistics as relevant as possible for all users.
