Consultation description

This consultation is no longer available. The government will review responses as part of the new consultation on senior clinicians’ pensions. The new version of this consultation is available here.

Our proposals aim to give senior NHS clinicians more control over pensions growth, so they can continue to provide the services that patients need.

Senior NHS clinicians are concerned that pension tax charges are making them retire early or change their working habits.

This consultation asks for your views on our proposals, including a 50:50 option to halve pension accrual and contributions.
