Overall, respondents broadly supported our proposed approach.
The responses we received provided helpful feedback. We are now planning to develop detailed designs for the new scheme and will take that feedback into account in that work.
Once we have drafted a design for the scheme we will hold a second public consultation.
Detail of feedback received
We received 405 responses to this consultation. The majority of responses (85%) were from people in the private security industry and 39% were from SIA approved contractors.

We are proposing to change the way we approve businesses. We are inviting public feedback on:
- the case for change
- the principles that could deliver the changes we think need to be made
This is so we can check that the changes we are proposing to make are the right ones.
