Consultation description

This consultation sets out the government’s proposal to put into legislation the UK’s sovereign immunity from direct tax policy and better target the types of income covered by the tax exemptions it provides. The proposed changes would provide valuable clarity and certainty to investors, while ensuring better value for money for taxpayers and bringing the UK into line with comparable countries. The government is consulting on the design of this policy until 12 September 2022.
