Detail of outcome

Having considered consultation responses and following the granting of the DCC Licence on 23 September 2013 the government published “Designation of the Smart Energy Code and charging methodology”. This includes a letter designating the SEC and the Charging methodology – the letter includes the legal text of the SEC (Annex A), and also identifies the members of the SEC Panel and the company which will be the Code Administrator and Secretariat (Annex B).

This document fulfils three primary purposes:

  • it sets out the Government’s response to comments received on two supplementary SEC consultations published in April 2013
  • it sets out the final legal text of Stage 1 of the SEC
  • it puts forward proposals to designate the Smart Energy Code and the Charging Methodology for DCC Services.
