Consultation description

The government launched this consultation to ask for views on how we can protect victims of stalking more effectively. The consultation incorporated a number of issues, including current legislation, the effect of police information notices, search powers, the work of existing organisations and alternative measures to tackle stalking.

The consultation asked for the views of key partners and directly affected parties, including the police, practitioners, other government departments and organisations with a direct interest in preventing stalking.

Useful resources A series of events were run in November and December 2011 to ensure that best practice guidance on the investigation and prosecution of stalking was made available across the country. Download the presentations from these events.
