The white paper contains the government’s response to this consultation, and sets out proposals to strengthen the UK’s framework for major companies and the way they are audited. If you want to comment on the proposals, the consultation closes on 8 July 2021.

Following its review of the statutory audit market, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) published its final report on 18 April 2019.

This consultation seeks views on the CMA’s recommendations to improve audit quality, competition and resilience in the statutory audit services market.
