The SAU launched a consultation on 1 February 2024 which provided an explanation of, and requested views on, the SAU’s proposed approach to carrying out its monitoring function. The consultation, which closed on 28 March 2024, received 16 responses.

The SAU has published the 16 responses received, along with a summary document. 

We note that the consultation was carried out, and all responses received, prior to the general election of 4 July 2024 and so under the last administration.

This consultation seeks views on the approach proposed by the Subsidy Advice Unit (SAU) in undertaking its monitoring function as set out in section 65 of the Subsidy Control Act 2022.

Consultation description

Under section 65 of the Subsidy Control Act 2022,  the SAU is required to monitor and review the effectiveness of the operation of the Act; and the impact of the Act on competition and investment within the UK. The SAU must publish a report on the outcome of its review.

This consultation provides an explanation of, and requests views on, the SAU’s proposed approach to carrying out this monitoring function.
