Consultation description

Proposes amending the carriage of dangerous goods and transportable pressure equipment regulations to end recognition of EU Pi-marked transportable pressure equipment (TPE).

TPE being placed on the market in Great Britain (GB) would need to be conformity-assessed by:

  • an appointed body established in GB and Rho-marked

or

  • a notified body established in Northern Ireland, affixed with a Pi-marking plus UK(NI) indication

The proposed change will come into effect between 1 January 2022 and 1 January 2023.
