This government response follows the consultation on UK transposition of the new Directive 2014/23/EU2 on the Award of Concession Contracts.

It also covers Directive 2014/25/EU1 on procurement by entities operating in the water, energy, transport and postal services sectors, replacing Directive 2004/17/EC for Utilities Contracts.

Consultation description

We are consulting on the draft regulations for concession contracts to see whether they implement the new EU Concessions Directive effectively.

The consultation continues our ongoing programme of engaging UK stakeholders to modernise the EU procurement rules. We aim to bring these regulations into effect by April 2016.
